Dar Alnur was founded in October 2012, by Abdulaziz Saleh and other volunteers, who had a common dream that Muslim Eritrean parents needed a place to meet with their respective family members. They had a dream of meeting and discussing religion, Quran school for the children and that the women have the opportunity to meet outside the home and get to know each other to break the loneliness at home.
Dar Alnur is a non-profit association whose purpose is to conduct non-profit activities in the form of safeguarding the interests of its members through member-oriented activities, exhibitions, lectures and teaching activities.
The association’s main task is to teach our children the Islamic religion, the Quran, and prepare them for the big world, teaching them how to live with respect for other people in society and have good moral values.
Dar Alnur consists of a board and has three different branches

The association is aimed at people of all ages, regardless of background. The association shall actively work to counteract all forms of discrimination, working against xenophobia, racism, gender oppression, prejudice, violence, discrimination and segregation in society. The association works against the illegal use and other illegal handling of drugs, doping agents and goods that are dangerous to health as well as the abuse of alcohol and other addictive substances.
Dar Alnur has Iftar assaim every Ramadan, you break the fast together with fasting people, everyone is welcome.
Dar Alnur also has Jumaa/Friday prayer, the occasion is closed. Dar alnur organizes an Eid party for the members’ and sometimes other families.
Dar Alnur collaborates with international schools and students come to Dar Alnur and take their exams.
